In-text References¶
Within the text of every answer, the AI provides an in-text reference to the source where it got the information from. Each source is numbered and cited directly within the text, and then shown as a source card at the bottom of the answer.
By clicking on the source, it opens a preview of the document, highlighting the specific section that was used in the answer.
This allows you to see not just the source of the information, but the specific page and section. Essentially, rather than having to scroll through pages or Ctrl+F to find the information, you have the answer, the source AND the specific section and context all at once.
How it Works¶
1. Direct Citations
As the Assistant formulates an answer, it automatically links specific sentences to the relevant Node in your Knowledge Base. These appear as clickable numbered icons (e.g., [1], [2]) throughout the text.
2. Precision Highlighting
Clicking on an in-text reference doesn’t just open a file; it opens a precision preview of the source, with the exact page and section used to answer the question. The specific text fragment that informed the answer is highlighted in blue. This eliminates the need for manual searching or "Ctrl+F" within long documents.
3. Instant Translation
For global teams working across multiple languages, understanding the original evidence is essential. If a source document is in a different language than your current chat, you can open the Source Card and click the Translation Button next to the highlighted blue chunk in the preview. This ensures you can verify the technical or legal accuracy of the evidence in your preferred language immediately, regardless of the document's original language.
