In-text References

Within the text of every answer, the AI provides an in-text reference to the source where it got the information from. Each source is numbered and cited directly within the text, and then shown as a source card at the bottom of the answer.

Rather than general links at the end of a message, these are numbered citations placed directly after specific facts in the Genie's response. This transparency ensures that your company's AI is always seen as a reliable, fact-based expert rather than a "black box" that might provide unverified information.

By clicking on the source, it opens a preview of the document, highlighting the specific section that was used in the answer.

This allows you to see not just the source of the information, but the specific page and section. Essentially, rather than having to scroll through pages or Ctrl+F to find the information, you have the answer, the source AND the specific section and context all at once.

How it Works

1. Embedded Evidence of Direct Citations

As the Genie answers a query, it automatically links specific sentences to the relevant source in your Knowledge Base. These appear as clickable numbered icons (e.g., [1], [2]). This allows the user to see that the information isn't just "generated" but is drawn directly from your company's official data.

2. Guided Navigation

When a user clicks a reference, the Genie opens a precision preview of the source document. The user is taken directly to the exact page and paragraph that contains the information. The specific section used for the answer is highlighted in blue, removing the need for the user to search through long PDFs or manuals manually.

3. Instant Translation for Global Users

If your Genie serves a diverse audience, users can verify the "blue chunk" in their own language. Next to the highlighted text in the preview, users can click a button to translate the source excerpt into their preferred language. This ensures that even if your official technical manual is in English, a user asking in French can verify the original context with total clarity (note, the Genie will anyways respond to the user's query in their language, this is just one step further with the source).
